Black Hellebore (Helleborus niger)

Description:
Black Hellebore has white, sometimes pink or greenish blossoms that darken over time. The blossom in usually in the top of leafless stem, which is high up to 20 cm. The ground floor leaves are finely dissected, rather large, leathery, persistent and evergreen. Black hellebore flowers from January to April, in mild winters also from December onwards.

Poisonous

Magical use:
Used for protection and invisibility spells. The safest way to use this plant is to place pieces of the black root in an amulet. Also used for poisons.
