On our backyard, my granny has a big garden. There she grows vegetables, some flowers and herbs. She also has several fruit trees, fruit shrubs and grape-vine. Through all the year (except in the winter), she goes to the local market and sells the homemade produce. My mom doesn’t approve that, she says that granny makes too much mess with the preparations and that it isn’t very good for her to go to the market at her age. Granny celebrated 80th birthday last year. It’s interesting that our birthdays are only two days apart.
On the garden, there is also a part that is mine. There I grow several herbs: lemon balm, sage, oregano, thyme, etc., etc. In the nearby woods, I can collect elder flower and other healing plants. The only plants that are missing on my garden are St. John’s wort and centaury. That’s because they usually grow in woods or meadows, and are annual plants, so it’s hard to have them in your garden. I would also like to have mandrake and deadly nightshade. I guess that nightshade is somewhere in the woods, but I’m not sure about mandrake.
I promise that, I’ll post pictures of my garden as soon as the snow melts and plants begin to grow.
